How can I auto-fill a word document by matching data in an excel document?
I have a word document with several lines for different entries. I want the operator of the form to enter a value (userID) and have the word document auto-fill the other values on the form based on the corresponding values from an excel spreadsheet. After the values are updated, the user should be able to override them on the word document (not changing the excel spreadsheet.) Where can I find VB code to do this, what other avenues are available for the same result?
I am limited to the Microsoft office suite (word, excel, access) and VBA scripts.
If I understood correctly what you need to do then you can use Word Feature “Mail Merge”. It is pretty simple to use. Good Luck.
