Customizing Your Desktop Wallpaper
With the rapid growth of technology and gadgets these days, computer has become one of the basic necessity for everyone’s needs. And for many, customizing computer desktop background wallpaper is the perfect way to jazz up your computer as it represent your personal feelings. Therefore, it is important to change your desktop wallpaper every once in a while to fit your current style.
There are many ways to get desktop wallpaper that you love. You can either buy or download it for free. While the paid service seems to be unreasonable due to the fees, it is the quality that matters. When you buy computer wallpapers, it usually come in an extremely high definition with different sizes in one single pack. However, there is always an alternative to everything and so as wallpaper. There are tons of website that offer free wallpapers from different sizes and categories such as car, celebrity, animal, movie, sport, movie, game and much more.
The first step when choosing the right wallpaper is to know what is the size of your computer monitor screen. The most common desktop resolutions are 800×600, 1024×768, 1280×1024 and 1600×1200 which are proportional in a 4:3 ratio. This means that a scaled image will still be in correct shape and full display when blended to other resolutions but might lose its quality. On the other hand, widescreen monitor with 16:9 or 16:10 ratio have different aspect requirements for wallpaper. Standard wallpapers (4:3) can be applied to widescreen monitor without losing its quality but often are cropped when being scaled down.
The next step is to locate your wallpaper either from your own collection or by downloading free wallpapers from the Internet. There are two basic method to change your desktop background, one is by previewing the image. Right click on the wallpaper and choose “set as desktop background”. This can also be done by opening you computer display properties and go to desktop tab, browse to your wallpaper and click OK to set the wallpaper as your computer background.
There are many ways to download free wallpapers. A simple way is to go to any search engine and type “free desktop wallpaper”. You could also use the image search function to enhance your results.
