do i need to upgrade to a bigger alternator in my HUMMER h2 with my system i am getting?
well bascially heres the car i have:
2004
hummer H2
SUV model
heres the system im getting:
3 12″ W7’s
3 pdx 1000 amps
i have also a 400 pdx amp for my door speakers
also getting a dual battery set up for the truck
and im thnkn bout gettn a sealed box?? ( not sure yet)
BUT heres wht im worried bout!:
will i need to upgrade to a bigger alternator or something so tht i dont make these subs go bad and so tht i have enough power to run these subs and my truck at the same time?!!

You could look into getting a capacitor setup into your sound system. The capacitor will hold a charge and keep it from taking all the power from your battery. It also will let the alternator keep power to the accessories. We installed them on cars with moderate to heavily upgraded sound systems to prevent the headlights from dimming for every bass note the amps pulled power for.
Since you are going with subs in a hummer use a sealed box for cleaner and less distorted bass. Your truck has enough cabin volume to push with the subs. A ported box would not hit as hard as a sealed box in your vehicle.
