Screensaver Tab Missing In Display Properties

What do I do to obtain a Product Recovery Disk?

A virus, back in the days of my ignorance, ravaged my PC eating up data. After learning how to remove it, I was left without the Background, ScreenSaver, or Appearance Tab on my Display Properties, along with possibly other missing data I’m unaware of. My computer now has a lot of junk and is running slowly, so I want to reboot the memory.

I have lost my Product Recovery Disk. I own a Dell with an XP Home Edition OS. My PC has a sticker label giving me a Product Key Code along with a 6 character code, an 8 character code, and a 14 character code.

Do I just contact Dell to send me a Product Recovery Disk, since I have the label to prove my ownership of the PC?

Also, when I get the Product Recovery Disk, how will it affect my computer when I reboot my PC? Will it totally erase the OS? Will it reset it back to its factory setting, similar to how it was when I bought the PC?

Thanks for all your help. :)

Call Dell. Have the service tag and OS keys ready to give them. When you get the recovery CD and run it your system will return to like it was when you first took it out of the box and fired it up for the first time.
