How do you lock a users desktop after 5 min of inactivity using group policy, not using the screensaver?
why not use the screen saver? its the simplest way. after a few mins. the system logs you out. its not a screen saver password it locks the ternimal and you must provide network log on to relog back on. in screen saver tab select box for on resume display welcome screen. basicly the screensaver locks the terminal as if the user did control alt del and hit enter. (assuming you have pro and have disabled the welcome screen)
but you can go into the MMC and click on Goup policy and select the one that says log out after… very simple.
right click on my computer click manage…..
select the group policy section at the bottom
also can get ther from the control pannel and the admin tools. thats where you change policys.
