why does my tv go on standby when my pc goes into screensaver mode?
I have a Polaroid tv / monitor – when using it as a monitor, after my pc has been in screensaver for a while the tv goes to standby. it never happened with my old pc though, just my new one. And often the picture is half off the side of the screen, and I have to turn off and on again to restore the picture to within the 4 sides of the screen.

I would guess that the pc is not sending a signal when in screen saver mode.
Either turn that off or see if the TV has a setting where it will keep the picture.
The only use for screen savers was with the old CRT type screens due to picture burn, that doesn’t happen with the new LCD monitors.
