My parents are almost forcing me to go to camp and refuse to let me play club football, help?
For the past 2 years I’ve gone to an all boys camp. This year it’s time to go back as an LIT/CIT. But in the fall I played high school football and absolutely loved it. I now want to play summer ball with a club in the spring and early half of the summer.
The camp is fun, but I kind of lost interest in it, and one reason is the lack of girls (haven’t told my parents yet, we don’t really talk about that kind of stuff…), but I would rather play summer football.
The camp costs $1500 more than the football, but my parents want me to learn the leadership and social skills (even when I only need help talking to girls…) and are worried about me getting injured in football.
I’m a big kid and if I got in top shape I know that I would not get injured.
How do I convince them? I’ve tried but they don’t seem to understand that I just don’t want to go back to camp and that I really want to play football.
How old are you? I would sit down and explain to your parents how much you want to play football. Depending on your age, hopefully, they will be understanding. See if you can get another parent or coach to speak to your parents about playing football. Tell your parents you enjoyed the camp but you have lost interest in it.
