how can i make my desktop icons open faster?
I have windows xp and only 2 icons on my desktop.Mozilla and yahoo mail.The problem is when i click on them,its takes a long time to open them.
I have tried everything i can to improve my system,which i have done!
Ive added more Ram,defrag,disk scan,emptied recycle bin,unchecked startup items,etc!Even ran antivirus,but still opens after about 25 seconds,which is way too long.Hourglass appears first.
What more can i do?
Update Firefox to latest version Help>Check Updates.
Also since IE is native you might want to try using IE.
IE usually will open instantly, XP is however a 10 yr old OS, you could be suffering from Windows rot. What are the specs of your PC? What processor do you have?
